Kaohsiung, Taiwan – [9 May 2024] – Renowned international expert in stage machinery health and safety, Blumano, recently conducted a comprehensive three-day training lecture at the prestigious Weiwuying National Centre of the Arts in Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
At the invitation of General Manager Jack Kuo and Technical Director Mei-Lin Chen, Blumano designed a customised lecture program specifically tailored to address the Centre’s needs. The program focused on crucial areas of technical theatre safety, including:
- Implementing best practices for staging H&S
- Safe operation of stage machinery and related equipment
- Performer flying and scenic motion risk assessment
In collaboration with stage manager Hui-ling Lee, Blumano meticulously planned and organised the program. To ensure clear communication and maximise learning for the participants, the lectures were delivered in Mandarin, with over 200 slides also translated. Additionally, Blumano received invaluable support from a local industry expert Jez Fang who provided real-time translation during the sessions.
Blumano’s commitment to safety extended beyond the classroom. They conducted a thorough preliminary inspection of the state-of-the-art stage machinery within the Centre’s Concert Hall, Opera House, and Playhouse, providing valuable insights and recommendations.
Blumano expressed immense satisfaction with the learning experience, commending the exceptional participation of the 33 attendees. Representing a broad spectrum of technical disciplines involved in stage productions, the group actively engaged with the presented material, creating a dynamic and enriching learning environment.
