EN 17206 – LOWER MACHINERY: LIFTING

The course at a glance

This EN 17206 – Lower Machinery: Lifting classroom is designed to provide stage machinery designers, system integrators and operators with an in-depth understanding of the specifications and requirements related to performer lifts, compensators and stage lifts used in the entertainment industry.

During the course, you will learn the applicable guidelines for Lower Machinery: Lifting from EN 17206:2020.

This course explores the fundamentals of mechanical design requirements, protective measures, testing and documentation. You will navigate through the entire design process and by the end of the course gain a solid understanding of the core responsibilities related to the design and identification of Lower Stage Machinery Lifting.

Structure Description

• The course consists of 5 lessons that take place in 1 day.
• The duration of each lesson is 1 hr max.
• All lessons are online based.
• At the end of the day there will be a Q&A session.

Upon completion, students will be able to:

• Demonstrate a solid understanding of stage machinery mechanical requirements and highly recommended protective measures
• Identify EN 17206 stage machinery use cases and related specifications
• Understand terminology and stage machinery elements
• Learn about load assumptions for elevators, ELL and ELL/R, and safeguarding at crushing, shearing and trapping points
• Transpose testing requirements into a consistent roadmap and checklist
• List the technical data, machinery parameters and information that will be provided in the machinery’s instructions
