Italy’s Alien Sound Festival was postponed this past weekend after strong winds caused the collapse of its main stage during construction.
The Naples event was scheduled to take place on 4th and 5th July, with DJs including GORDO and Ozuna among those set to perform.
Footage circulating on social media showed the main stage structure collapsing mid-build as strong winds swept through the city. Lighting towers and other structures around the site also collapsed. No injuries were reported.
Festival organisers had initially hoped to proceed with the event despite the damage, but local authorities ultimately ordered its postponement. Alien Sound Festival will now be held as a single-day event on 23rd July at its usual home in a former NATO base in Bagnoli.
Tickets already purchased for the festival will be usable on the new date, but refunds will be available from 24th July through the original point of purchase.
In a statement, the festival said: “We know how much this situation may have caused inconvenience and disappointment. However, we would like to assure you that we did everything in our power to allow the festival to take place on the originally scheduled dates. We thank you for the trust, patience and support you continue to show us.”

Alien Sound Festival is one of a number of recent events to experience weather-enforced disruption.
Last week, Dutch festival Defqon.1 was cancelled due to an unprecedented extreme heat warning. Over 350 hardstyle and hard dance artists were booked to perform at the event, including Brennan Heart, Showtek, Sub Zero Project, Angerfist, Hysta, Anime, Miss K8, and many more.
Earlier this summer, Primavera Sound was forced to cancel sets from Massive Attack, Doja Cat, Bad Gyal and more due to severe weather during the opening day of its 2026 festival.
