Seven people were trapped in an amusement park about 30 meters high at Feira de São Mateus, in Viseu.
Authorities and rescue teams were called to the scene to rescue the people, and at least three have already been rescued.
Although there were no reports of injuries, the work to rescue the other people could take at least another hour, as the fun stopped due to a blockage in the mechanical arm, keeping people suspended around 30 meters from the ground.
Commander Rui Nogueira, from the Viseu Sapadores Fire Department, explained that the rescue is being carried out with the help of a ladder vehicle, which is used to reach people trapped in the entertainment.
Everyone involved in the incident, predominantly young people and young adults, is collaborating with the rescue operations.
The cause of the situation appears to be a technical malfunction at the amusement, although official investigations must still be carried out by the competent authorities.
The rescue teams have medical support on site and the operation is being coordinated by the Feira de São Mateus medical and security team, with the assistance of the Firefighters Sapadores de Viseu and their ladder vehicle. The alert for the incident was received at 9:15 pm.
